i'd rather stick with gas. give the battery cars to grannies and tree huggers

I doubt this car will ever be made. It's due to be released in 2010? If they really wanted to make it they could do it now, since they already had a plugin EV-1 years ago. This is why the American car companies are in such trouble. They just don't know how to business anymore in the modern world.

Thank you for correcting me, and I see now.

rickras20 I don't think you are aware of what the term hybrid vehicle means.I think you should listen to the comments made by rdab700/ and scott08jkx they are correct on there input you are not.
scott08jkx on November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am
it is not a hybrid. the definition of a hybrid means 2 different methods of propulsion. the gas engine does not propel the car. the wheels are completely driven by electricity. all the gas engine does is runs a generator to charge the batteries. READ A DAMN BOOK BEFORE YOU POST!!!
rdab700 on November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am
It's an electric vehicule (with extended range). A Toyota Pirus is what you call an hybrid, because it can't run on electric only. Some recent comes closes to an electric vehicule because they can run using the electric engine up to a certain speed. But the Chevy Volt still unique in its kind. It's a truely electric car that uses gaz only when it runs out of electricity. The EV1 is heavy and uses "old" battery technology.
